Chapter 35
Mrs. Sue took out her phone and scrolled through Trista’s images. She sighed and said, “What a wonderful child! She is very stunning. Do you believe she has a facial deformity? Destroy the driver’s face, Ira!”
“All OK, all right.” Chester softly rubbed her on the back and calmed her “I understand you are concerned about our son, but she passed away. What is the point of doing something at this stage?”
“How lovely my daughter-in-law should be!” Sue wept, ” I’m sorry…. I’m late…. Waah…. My grandsons…. I’m sorry…. I’m late….”
“All OK, all right.” Chester sighed, “What exactly are you referring to? Donald is in desperate need of our consolation right now….”
“By the way, where is Donald?” Sue raised her eyes to me and inquired.
“Master is still at the hospital. He’s obviously in a foul mood….”
“Should we go to the hospital, honey?”
“Allow Donald to deal with it on his own. He’s had to be alone. Let’s go back first.”
“But….”
“I’m sorry, but I’m not much of a help here.” Chester assisted his wife in leaving.
While walking, Mrs. Huo turned around and said, “Ira, please tell Donald that if he really likes this girl, we can have another girl having plastic surgery according to her appearance. Don’t be too downhearted. In our country, our plastic surgery hospital is the greatest. The entire plastic surgery procedure is identical….”
“Don’t forget to remind Donald to eat and sleep on schedule. In a few days, we’ll pay him a visit!” Lady Sue went on.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
“Yes, sir,” I bowed nicely but felt embarrassed. Every time she blurted out something so different
I drove immediately to the hospital after the two ancestors had left and entered the VIP floor. The depressing atmosphere suddenly enveloped everyone. Several people bowed and stood silently in the background. The emergency room door had been opened, and it was clear that the operation had ended. That was how everyone appeared. Was the operation a failure?
Donald was seated outside the emergency department in a chair with his hands crossed over his forehead and his elbows against his knees. He appeared to be depressed.
I was ready to approach when I noticed a tear on the ground. I was taken aback and raised my head. Another tear swiftly dropped to the ground and shattered.
What exactly was going on?
Donald sobbed?
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I rubbed them hard. Miss Trista, did something happen to her? Otherwise, how could Donald have turned out this way?
Since I was fourteen, I’ve been with Donald. I’ve never seen him cry, let alone suffer like this because of someone.
Is it true that Donal has a thing for Miss Trista? Is it true that he fell head over heels with her at first sight?
Donald’s point of view
“What are you doing here, Ira?” Someone inquired enquiringly.
I raised my head and saw the familiar face, familiar attire, and the clothes I had bought her the day before.
Was it her? Trista!
He leapt to his feet and dashed towards her. In my mind’s eye, she seemed to be the only one, and all sounds from the outer world vanished. She was the only one in my eyes, my heart, and my mind!
He suddenly held her in his arms, as if I had experienced a century. This long-forgotten hug suddenly warmed my heart. Her body odor, temperature, and breath…. all indicated that she was still alive! She had come to life!
My voice trembled as I asked, “Is that you, Trista?”
“Have you touched enough?”
“Is it possible that I misunderstood something? Please tell me this isn’t a dream!” Unconsciously, my voice trembled.
“What happened to you, Donald?”
“Donald…. Are you in tears?”
I cradled her face in my hands, placed my kiss against her lips, and kissed her wildly.
Both the anguish and the delight were extremes. The two emotions were entangled, and I kissed her against the wall, then aggressively entangled her.
All of my emotions were rushing through my body right now, and I couldn’t control my strength.
I came to a halt and drew her into my arms. “I feared I’d never see you again.”
“Who is the person inside, please? Why did the doctor claim that the phone’s owner was involved in an accident?” I inquired.
“Are you referring to the guy who grabbed my phone?”
“Grab your phone?” I was a little taken aback. “Was your phone snatched?”
“My phone was suddenly snatched as I was talking to you on the phone. That gentleman had been hit by a truck and flew away just as I was about to catch up with him!”
“So, how about you? Did you sustain any injuries?” In a hurry, I inquired.
She gave a little frown.
“Where does it hurt?” I’m very concerned.
“No….”
I only noticed the ointment on her left elbow after that. “Can you tell me what happened?”
Trista’s point of view
“I lost my balance and fell down when that man snatched my phone.” Looking at his nervous and serious look, I hurriedly added, “it doesn’t hurt. It’s nothing more than a bruise. It’s all right.”
He said, frowning, “You didn’t look after yourself while I was gone. When we get back, I’ll ask the doctor to re-bind your wound.”
“No, it’s just a minor wound,”
“Let’s go get the marriage license,”
“What?”
He gave me a serious look. “Obtain our marriage license. Trista, I like you. Let’s spend some time together.”
I was taken aback.
What exactly was going on? Why did Donald tell me he loved me?
Is there any true love in today’s world?
Eight years of love is a lie, especially when I’ve only known him for a month?
“I can listen to you in any event, but you must listen to me and make a pledge to me.” He gave me a hopeful glance.
“You have no right to refuse,” he abruptly interrupted as I was going to say something.
I’m at a loss for words. I remained silent.
Why is he so eager to tie the knot with me?
“Let’s get going.” He took my hand in his and was going to walk away. “Can you tell me where you’re taking me?”
“The Bureau of Civil Affairs.”
“It’s now 12 p. m. They haven’t arrived….”
“It’s not a problem for me.”
“Donald, hold your horses! Are you certain? Marriage isn’t a game.”
“I understand.”
“How come you’re so laid-back?”
“No. I don’t want to lose you, Trista.”
I couldn’t believe my eyes when his warm eyes showed a hint of deep melancholy. How could he have such a powerful reaction when I’d only known him for a short time?
Was it love, or something else?
“I’m going to give you what you’ve deserved.” He touched my face softly and added, “Allow all employees have a paid half-month vacation. Let’s have a wedding and honeymoon in another country, okay?”
“No!”
He had an unfathomable expression on his face when he gazed.
I also realized I was a little excited and explained quickly, “My relatives are unaware that I am still alive. They will undoubtedly notice the wedding once it takes place.”
