Chapter 1089
Standing dumbstruck in the middle, Lauren tilted her head sideways and felt so wronged that her throat was sore. It was all that bastard's fault! Ever since he came, I can't even have a meal in peace!
At that moment, he was replying to a message and Willy did not notice at all. He put away his phone and only then did he realize the predicament she was in. He reached out to take the plate and pulled her to the empty seat that had just been vacated behind him.
Because the table had not been cleaned up and it was a little dirty, Willy pushed her to sit down on the clean side of his table. He held her plate and stood on the opposite side, then raised his hand and called the cleaner over.
The long table was separated by a few gaps big enough to fit a single person. There were essentially no more seats left. The seats were not that big, and they were a little packed. Fortunately, there were corridors on both sides of the wall. There were also aisles behind and beside them, plus a beverage counter at the corner. He was afraid that someone would knock into or squeeze her. Willy did not sit. Instead, he moved to an empty space behind her and helped her to sit down. Since his phone was still ringing, he poured her a cup of hot water and took out his phone.
Carrying the food, Lauren felt a scratchiness in her throat. Her heart was warm and filled with rage at the same time!
Seeing that he was constantly busy with one hand on the back of the chair behind her with care, Lauren also lost her appetite.
She seldom came to the canteen to eat after she got pregnant. She had been coming recently to make trouble for him and make him give up. Unexpectedly, she was the one who ended up suffering more...
Feeling wronged and uncomfortable, she chewed a few grains of rice. Lauren's heart felt like it had been stuffed with stone. It was incredibly unsettling, and her eyes were covered with a thin layer of mist. There were two plates on the table. What she was eating right then was actually food that Willy had gotten for himself. He had only taken the food a little while after her, and the mushrooms and pieces of chicken on his plate looked totally fresh. Even the vegetables looked more delicious than hers.
Even when it came to getting food, he got better treatment than she did?
She had never cared about these trivial things, but right then, Lauren suddenly felt an imbalance in her heart.
However, as soon as the idea came into her mind, several small bowls suddenly came into her sight. Then, she saw a pair of small and soft hands sneaking in two small white bowls, both placed across from her. One of them contained the cafeteria's specialty, that being the fish chops she was unable to buy. The other contained fresh fruit, which had been cut in the shape of hearts and seemed to have been made with love. Obviously, it was specially prepared for a certain someone.
Had she fallen behind? Why were all the female students so obvious about it? He already had a partner, yet they were being so open about it. Her long eyelashes trembled, and Lauren unconsciously bit her fork.
At that point, Willy was too focused on official business to notice anything. When things came to an end and there was no more chaos around him, he sat down opposite Lauren. He didn't realize that these two small bowls had come out of nowhere. He picked up a piece of fruit and stuffed it into his mouth.
Lauren stared at him. At the same time, her eyes turned bloodshot.
When he went to grab his cutlery, what he saw was Lauren with a wronged and blaming expression. "What's wrong?"
Willy did not know what had happened, so he checked the table. He had no idea what dishes he had ordered. His eyes lingered on the two small bowls for a few seconds.
When had he taken those? Or had she taken it especially for him?
While he was wondering, on the opposite side, Lauren slammed her fork down and stood up, pouting. "How dare you ask me what's wrong? If you eat those, it means you're accepting them! B*stard!"
When she got up, Willy did as well. He took the plate that she had picked up, which looked totally untouched.
"Do you not have an appetite? Why are you eating so little?"
It would have been fine if he hadn't mentioned it. The more he brought it up, the angrier Lauren became because there were still people in the dining hall. Squinting at him, she turned around and strode toward the exit.
Stunned for a while, Willy quickly put the two dishes into the collection area and then quickly chased after her.
Having been piled under work, Willy was both annoyed and hungry at that moment. To make things worse, Lauren was furious and giving him the silent treatment, so he was seriously frustrated to the extreme right then. He chased after her all the way out, and his tone obviously revealed his emotions.
"Lauren!"
Willy pulled her back. He was speechless at her difficult yet stunted personality.
Recently, the two of them had been just like that. For a few hours every day, they lowered their heads and did not look up. Most of the time, it was a one-man show. She treated him as afr. She did not say a word, nor would she spare him a look Whenever he spoke, eight out of ten times he would end up feverishly sucking up to her cold exterior. The other two times would be like the situation right then, where his efforts seemed to be useless, and he felt like a cold bucket of water was being poured over his head.
Willy walked in front of her and was about to say something. When his gaze fell on her, he saw her head half-hanging. Her tears were falling. He was given a great shock and instantly forgot everything. Leaning to one side to avoid her belly, he hugged her by the neck and whispered to her. "What's wrong? I'm not going to be mad at you!" She had been totally fine, why was she crying now?
He caressed the back of her head and bent down to give her hair a gentle kiss. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have shouted at you! Don't cry, don't cry..." Wiping away the tears from her eyes, Willy's heart suddenly ached. "Do you really not want to see me?"
With crystal-like tears hanging on her lengthy eyelashes, Lauren nodded heavily.
Looking up, he sighed helplessly. He raised his hand and pinched her cheek. "You're just acting, aren't you?"
However, in the next second, he couldn't help but heave a long sigh.
"I know you're trying to make me feel guilty on purpose, but I still can't help but actually feel sorry for you! Laurie, you really know how to hurt me! It's not like I'm idling around everyday with nothing to do. It's my first time abandoning my job for a woman..."
God knew how much extra work he had to take on in order to follow her around that week.
He didn't want to complain, he just wanted her to know that he was serious!
As their eyes met, Lauren's tears flooded the
ground.
"You make it sound so nice. Since
when have you been doing that for me? You're clearly here to pick up girls, hook up make me a public enemy, and make trouble for me! Ever since you came here, my

here,
deal with! Ever since you I've become a fierce woman, an ugly duckling who wants to become a swan. I get looked down upon when I go out, my seats get stolen by other people, and people shoot me middle fingers behind my back!"
With sobs, Lauren's tears, like beads falling off a broken string, dripped to the ground.
"My schoolmates don't want to be close to me anymore, and I don't even have a place to sit in the library! It's all because of you that I was pushed aside. I can't even buy the fish chops I wanted to eat. Even the chef is blased. The food you got was better than mine, and you even ate the fruits a female classmate gave. You clearly enjoy it! It's also perfect. You're not doing it for me, not for me! How could you feel sorry and guilty? You clearly can't see anything good about me. You're a peacock spreading its feathers to show off on purpose to provoke me!"
All of a sudden, her emotions broke out. Lauren cried herself breathless, but she also revealed subconscious jealousy and emotion.
