Chapter 935

"Check who we're dealing with," Sylvia's eyes were fixed on her phone, squinting slightly as her long lashes cast a faint silhouette over her eyelids. Her glassy eyes gleamed with a hint of coldness.

Alby replied almost instantly, "I'm already checking. Don't worry."

"I've been busy lately with weddings and engagements. I can't come to see you. Please help me find out about this matter. Thank you," Sylvia's fingers tapped away at the keys on her phone before sending the message.

After sending it, she put away her phone without replying to any other irrelevant messages.

As she turned around, she saw Franklin had already closed his laptop and was gazing at her intently from the side.

His expression was calm but tinged with indulgence and warmth.

Sylvia smiled brightly, "What are you staring at? Let's go eat."

Franklin's lips curled into a charming curve as he reached out to take Sylvia's soft hand and stood up, "Let's go."

The 16th and 17th floors of the hotel were both restaurants; however, the 16th floor was private dining rooms while the 17th floor was a regular buffet restaurant. Most people who didn't have important matters would choose the more comfortable and relaxed environment of the buffet restaurant.

The elevator beeped as it stopped on the 17th floor.

Franklin led Sylvia out of the elevator holding hands while a waiter in black-and-white hotel uniform waited for them by its doors.

"Mr. Maskelyne, Mrs. Maskelyne, please follow me," said politely by their waiter whose collar had an added red bowtie.

Sylvia looked up to see that there were flowers decorating both sides of red carpet which they stepped onto after leaving from elevator entrance hallway behind them.

"Mr. Maskelyne, Mrs. Maskelyne, please come inside. I wish you an enjoyable meal."

The waiter introduced himself professionally, while smiling warmly towards Franklin and Sylvia, making him seem very excitedly enthusiastic.

Oh my god!

He actually served Mr. Maskelyne and Mrs. Maskelyne! He felt so happy that he could pass out, even though all Franklin did was nod his head in acknowledgement towards him!

Mrs. Maskelyne had a good attitude and even thanked him. After saying thank you, Franklin and Sylvia walked towards the restaurant.

As soon as they stepped inside, Sylvia's eyes were drawn to the array of food in the restaurant. There were all kinds of seafood dishes, high-end desserts, and various types of cuisine.

Not only that, but there was also a self-serve cooking station every ten meters or so in the restaurant. In addition to choosing from these prepared dishes, customers could also choose their own flavors and ingredients and have them cooked on-site by chefs.

Sylvia rarely visited this type of hotel under Maskelyne Group; she usually went to Golden Restaurant with Franklin. She didn't expect that Maskelyne Group's hotels would be so thoughtful in their hospitality.

"Do you have any special requests? If so, we can customize a dish for you on-site," Franklin looked down at her with his eyes low. Sylvia shook her head," These prepared dishes are fine."

She didn't have any strange taste requirements; she was just hungry.

They came down to eat relatively early at 11 o'clock in the morning; therefore, there weren't many customers dining in the restaurant yet.

Melodious music floated through the air echoing around them, making everything feel elegant and full of charm.

Sylvia picked out some dishes she wanted to eat before walking over to where all kinds of seafood were displayed like an oceanarium brought indoors.

There were various types floating around right before her eyes along with buttons allowing customers to pick which one they wanted cooked fresh by chefs on site.

The feeling was especially great when it came from catching it herself.

Sylvia then chose some prepared seafood such as Boston lobsters before going off again for some fruits.

All sorts stood tall like trees equipped with tools for picking fresh fruit alongside baskets filled with all sorts making people want nothing more than wanting to pick them themselves.

"How do they grow indoors?" Sylvia looked up at where all these fruit trees stood. "There is no sunlight."

"We've selected fruits that are suitable for indoor cultivation while providing water soil etc., creating an environment suitable for their growth. So... they can survive." Franklin reached out his arm picking an orange placing it into Sylvia's hand smiling at her.

He didn't mention how much those experts who cultivate fruit trees earn monthly alone just yet.

The restaurant was getting busier and more customers were arriving to dine.

Sylvia didn't pay attention to them and continued to pick out her favorite dishes. "Do you have what you want? You go ahead, I'll grab some pastries," she said as she walked towards the pastry section to choose her favorites.

She quickly grabbed what she wanted and turned around, only to run into a glamorous woman wearing high heels and bright red lipstick who was walking with her nose in the air.

The sound of a plate breaking echoed throughout the hall, causing everyone's attention to turn towards them.

Several women's faces changed slightly as they immediately walked over and surrounded Sylvia. "Don't you have eyes? You ruined my clothes! Can you afford it?" The angry voice of the woman with big red lips carried an icy anger.

Sylvia raised an eyebrow, looking coldly at the woman in front of her who looked pretty good but had poor taste in character despite being dressed well with designer clothes. Even if someone dressed up nicely, they seemed cheap and tacky.

Especially since this woman bumped into her first causing all of Sylvia's chosen dishes to be ruined on her clothes yet this big-lipped woman is blaming Sylvia instead? How ridiculous!

As soon as she spoke up, those few women surrounding Sylvia immediately cast unfriendly glances at her like they were ready to tear into pieces any moment now.

Sylvia scanned these women noticing that although their appearances varied greatly from one another but their style and attitude were very similar just like this big-lipped lady.

"Do you know who she is? If she lifts a finger against you, then your life will be over! Quickly kneel down and apologize profusely before our Ms. Gates; maybe then she'll let it slide!"

A proud-looking girl with an overly large nose said arrogantly while showing off how fake everything about herself looked including that plastic surgery enhanced nose which almost seemed like it would pop if touched too hard.

As soon as she finished speaking, a burst of giggles erupted from the group of women. It was obvious that they were all in cahoots with each other. Especially when they saw Sylvia wearing a well-fitted dress without any logos on it, despite its good style and comfort, many women showed a sneering and contemptuous expression.

"You can tell she's just a little white-collar worker who came to eat something nice after receiving her salary," one woman said. "I didn't expect her to run into Ms. Gates, such an advanced socialite."

"This beautiful lady," another woman kindly advised Sylvia while looking at Kristen. "I suggest you apologize to Ms. Gates quickly. Her older brother is Soren Gates; you know him? That basketball player who excels in sports for the country's glory? The Gates family has some influence in Urgford."

There's a woman with subtle makeup on her face kindly said to Sylvia, then glanced at Kristen. "Ms. Gates, I think she's just a worker. It's not necessary to put her in the middle."

Kristen snorted coldly, her tone displeased. "Selah Mendez, what do you mean by this? I taught you to be a socialite, and this is how you repay me?"

After saying this, she rolled her eyes at Sylvia, speaking condescendingly. "Considering your lack of money, I don't want to make things difficult for you. This dress of mine costs around twenty thousand, but I won't make you pay the full amount. How about you compensate ten thousand and kneel down to apologize to me? Then I'll let you off."

"Wow! Ms. Gates, even a single dress you wear is so expensive. You're incredibly wealthy and elegant." One woman immediately praised Kristen, her eyes sparkling.

Sylvia made a mental note of the name Selah Mendez, since the girl didn't seem like such a bad person after all.

Soren Gates, Kristen's brother, helped Franklin play friendly matches before. It seemed like his upbringing was good. But how could he have such an ill-bred sister? She felt something off.

She spoke coldly. "Ms. Gates? I'm feeling pretty okay today," Sylvia continued calmly while ignoring Kristen's previous statement completely. "So my suggestion would be not bother me again or else face consequences."

"Did everyone hear that?" Kristen laughed out loud with disdainful tone . "It's too funny! She says 'face consequences' but isn't it just herself?" The other women also looked shocked at how tough- minded Sylvia appeared- clearly not willing take any losses whatsoever!

Franklin waited in the corner of the restaurant for Sylvia, but she didn't show up. He couldn't wait any longer and got up to look for her.

From a distance, he saw a group of women chattering and laughing so hard that it made him nauseous. The sickening scent of their perfume wafted towards him.

Just as he was about to walk past them, he heard a familiar cold voice.

His face changed and his expression turned extremely icy as he stood behind the crowd and spoke displeasedly, "What are you all doing?"

Several women were startled by the sound of a cold male voice behind them. They turned around and couldn't help but widen their eyes.

Wow! What a handsome man!Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
