Chapter 907
Chapter 907
As Mauricio's mother spoke, she choked and gasped for breath. Watching her, one couldn't help but feel sympathy. She choked for a while before continuing to cry and say, "They threatened him to release that clarification video. That wasn't his intention at all. Don't believe what he said; what I'm saying is the truth."
“He has always been an outstanding student with a pure heart since childhood and hasn't experienced any major ups and downs. in life, so he can't distinguish between good people and bad people at all. He must have been deceived or threatened into doing this. My heart aches for my son who survived death only to be used by Maskelyne Group like this."
“Aren't you capitalists human beings? Do you not have any conscience?"
Those who heard it shed tears and felt pain.
Some parents also left comments below. "What a poor mother. Mothers only want their children to do well."
“lam also a parent myself, so | sympathize greatly with this mother."
“Maskelyne Group is too hateful! Sylvia and Franklin are both hypocritical!"
"They bully newly graduated students without shame!"
"That woman Sylvia buys trending topics every day and makes herself look so perfect in public - now she's fallen apart!" These people were using the most vicious language in the world to crazily insult Franklin and Sylvia.
There were also some negative comments about the Kennedy family mixed in. "Don't forget about Kennedy family." "That Kennedy family is involved too."
"They're all capitalists who specialize in exploiting ordinary people - they possess wealth that we won't get even after several generations."
Many of these individuals had resentment towards wealthy individuals which was now being vented out due to this incident's outbreak.
Franklin took a deep breath as he suppressed his anger within himself.
He allowed others to criticize him but not Sylvia! He couldn't stand seeing these ignorant netizens crazily insulting Sylvia or cursing her out.
Sylvia noticed that his expression wasn't quite right as she paused eating before looking at him curiously, "Why aren't you eating anymore?"
Franklin put down his phone, "The public opinion has flared up again - they've retaliated against us." Sylvia chuckled, "So what? We'll cross that bridge when we get there. We can handle anything that comes our way." She reached for Franklin's phone, "Let me see."
Franklin instinctively turned off the screen of his phone, "There's nothing to see. It's just a video of parents accusing us of threatening their kids."
He didn't want Sylvia to see any vulgar language.
"Am | that fragile?" Sylvia seemed to have guessed his thoughts. She knew exactly what those internet trolls would say without even looking at the video. She decided not to bother and said, "We need to handle this situation properly. How is Jasper doing with the investigation?"
"They won't be able to keep it up for long," Franklin replied sharply as a glint of determination flashed in his eyes. "Mrs. Ritter thinks she can defeat us with these petty tricks? She's too naive."
"No, she just wants to spice up our lives and cause some trouble for us," Sylvia sneered as she pursed her lips in contemptuous mockery towards Mrs. Ritter.
It was like something sticky that you couldn't shake off. As someone knocked on the door outside, Sylvia looked towards it and said, "Come in."
Jasper walked into the room wearing a black suit and carrying a briefcase containing a tablet computer which he opened upon reaching them both.
"Mr. Franklin, Miss Andrews, | found evidence," Jasper announced confidently as he displayed screenshots of bank transfers from within the tablet computer before them both.
"One employee from Morningbreeze Website gave each family 100 thousand dollars," Jasper explained while scrolling through various images on screen before continuing further by saying.
"400 thousand dollars is all it takes to buy their conscience?" questioned Sylvia with her eyes squinting slightly in disbelief at how easily people could be bought out nowadays.
"These kids come from ordinary families where their parents are working-class or even farmers so they're easy targets for manipulation." Jasper sighed heavily before adding.
"For families who lack money, every penny counts, let alone 100 thousand dollars."
Franklin pondered for a moment before speaking, "Let's upload this evidence to Mr. Ritter on the Morningbreeze Website and see how he reacts. Let's not expose it publicly for now. The children have a long way to go in life, and if the public finds out that their parents took money from someone else, their future may be very difficult."
"Their parents did something so despicable..." Jasper was interrupted by Franklin before he could finish his sentence. "It was their parents who did wrong, not them. Besides, they released a clarification video. Everyone understands that the innocent shouldn't suffer because of others’ mistakes."
Sylvia fully agreed with Franklin's opinion.
"You're right; it would be best to resolve this privately if possible. These kids are just starting out in life and getting caught up in this mess is due to Mrs. Ritter targeting us and Franklin initially," Sylvia added.
"Okay then, I'll go personally visit Mrs. Ritter now," Jasper said as he put away his tablet and stood up.
Outside, it was already dark with the night sky like thick black ink spreading across the horizon as Sylvia checked her watch; it was 8. 30 pm.
Apart from Romeo being discharged from hospitalization earlier than expected, all other teenagers were still confined within their respective rooms.
Some were playing on their phones while others read books quietly without making any noise. Franklin and Sylvia walked past Mauricio who was talking on the phone at the nurse station. “Mr. Maskelyne! Dr. Sylvia!" Mauricio greeted them respectfully but nervously.
"In an argument with your mother?" Sylvia smiled slightly with amusement glinting in her eyes.
"She probably just wants your family’s financial burden lifted somewhat so you can live more comfortably without worrying about money all the time," she continued reassuringly while looking directly into Mauricio's eyes.
Mauricio looked stunned momentarily before replying hesitantly. "Dr. Sylvia... my mother... she..."
He trailed off uncertainly unable to complete his sentence properly due partly because of shock but mainly due mostly likely fear taking hold inside him.
Sylvia sighed inwardly knowing full well how hard things must have been for Mauricio lately.
“Mauricio, many times the decisions and actions our parents make are for the sake of the family. They are just temporarily blinded," Sylvia smiled gently, making it comfortable to look at her.
"Talk to your mother and communicate well," she continued.
Franklin had not spoken until he looked at Mauricio's youthful face and said after a while, "If you want to work for Maskelyne Group or SouthStar Airlines, contact Jasper anytime."
He repeated this sentence to every young person in the following time. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

The two of them fought against these trolls like angry youth. She asked Romeo why he didn't go home after being discharged from hospital.

"Your classmates have great qualities that are hard to come by," she added admiringly. "They possess both youth as well as sharpness and integrity.”
No wonder they could be friends with James and Romeo. They were good buddies who even went hiking together!
Franklin watched the two of them, looking carefree and without a worry in the world. A faint smile appeared on his expressionless face.
When James saw the smile on Franklin's face, he suddenly realized that his serious older brother was also here! Instantly, he felt a bit awkward and uncomfortable.
He realized that whenever his sister-in-law was around, he would naturally release his true nature.
It seemed like whenever she was around, his older brother wouldn't dare scold or yell at him.
It was simply too enjoyable.
Sylvia and Franklin stayed for a while before leaving. They went straight back to Townyer Villa. By the time they got home, it was already late at night and Jasper still hadn't returned.
