After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities

Chapter 821

Chapter 821

Darius's mother could tell from the old Mrs. Foster's unfriendly expression what was on her mind.

She smiled slightly, trying to smooth things over. "Mom, you know Darius is not a reckless child. He

must have checked it out before..."

"You can't say that," sneered Madam Gisselle, Darius's aunt. "Our Darius is the CEO of an airline

company and used to be on par with Franklin in NorthWind Airlines and SouthStar Airlines. How many

socialites wanted to marry into our family? Now he brings back a woman with a child... from some

backward place like Middle Evroya? I really don't think so."

Madam Karina listened as Madam Gisselle continued her mocking tone and felt angry inside.

Darius was already getting older but still didn't have a girlfriend.

She was excited when he finally brought home a girl - one who even had his granddaughter with her!

Now not only did the old Mrs. Foster disapprove but Madam Gisselle also kept making snide remarks

right in front of them.

The more she listened, the angrier she became but couldn't lose her temper in front of everyone.

All she could do was smile awkwardly and try to get Madam Gisselle to stop talking by changing topics,

"Hey, Madam Gisselle, I heard your daughter June is dating someone now? A celebrity? Not that I'm

saying anything bad about celebrities but they're usually fickle-minded people, right? Our Foster family

has such high status; it wouldn't be good for June if she dated someone like that."

Madam Gisselle's face stiffened at this comment but quickly put on a smile again. "June is just playing

around; she wants someone better than her brother Darius! How could any celebrity match up?"

"Darius has some pretty good friends though. Logan and some young CEOs from his company like

Jasper who comes from the Howlett family," said Madam Karina sweetly. "You know Longevity

Pharmaceuticals, right? Logan is their CEO."

"I know Mr. Mertens..." replied Madam Giselle awkwardly since she had previously tried introducing © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

herself through intermediaries without success when trying to set up June with Logan before.

Madam Karina clearly knows about Logan, but she refuses to say anything else. Madam Gisselle feels

uneasy, as if her face has been slapped hard by Madam Karina's words. Logan doesn't even want to

see her daughter, and Madam Gisselle hasn't dared to tell anyone in the Foster family about it.

How did Karina find out? Karina's son controls the entire NorthWind Airlines, while the second branch

is just a high-level executive. Especially with Darius at the helm - such an outstanding leader - it's

difficult for anyone in the second branch to make a name for themselves.

Normally, Madam Gisselle doesn't agree with the first branch's decisions and now that Darius has a

daughter of his own, there is no hope for her daughter. She can only watch from afar and laugh at

herself.

Madam Karina retaliates against Madam Gisselle's comments by suggesting that Mr. Mertens is

generous and handsome; if Darius cannot help June get together with him then perhaps Jasper would

be interested instead since he owes Franklin his life after being saved years ago.

The old Mrs. Foster agrees that June is beautiful and talented enough to marry any man she wants;

however, when Madam Gisselle mentions Mr. Mertens having a girlfriend already, she seems surprised

as she had never heard this before from Darius himself.

Madame Karina continues smiling sweetly, despite knowing what was really going on between Logan

and their family. This makes Madame Giselle feel like crying again because of how much this woman

enjoys making fun of them all behind their backs, without any remorse or guilt whatsoever!

"This matter is settled then. When Darius comes back, he will introduce Mr. Mertens to June. If Mr.

Mertens doesn't work out, then Jasper will do. Both of these young men are highly sought after talents,"

declared the old Mrs. Foster.

However, Madam Gisselle's face stiffened and her smile became forced upon hearing this.

Camille Foster had been listening on the sidelines without expressing any opinions. She was Darius

and Aedan's aunt, and while the two sisters-in-law were constantly at odds with each other, Camille

secretly got along well with Madam Gisselle but felt some distance from the main family for some

reason.

She poured a cup of tea for the old Mrs. Foster and handed it to her, saying, "Mom, have some tea."

Then she proceeded to pour tea for both sisters-in-law as well.

The old Mrs. Foster asked "Camille, can that woman come into our home?" not even bothering to call

Isabelle by name anymore - just referring to her as 'that woman'.

Camille glanced at Madam Karina before smiling and saying, "Mom, isn't it inappropriate for me to

evaluate someone who could potentially be my niece-in-law?"

"What's inappropriate about it? Whether or not she can become a member of the Foster family is not

up to Darius alone! I'm still alive!" exclaimed the old Mrs. Foster slamming her teacup onto the table

heavily.

"Middle Evroya is not exactly an ideal place either; I've heard that she has been married before!" said

Camille while observing the expression on the Old Mrs. Foster's face which had turned even darker

than before.

"What? She has been married before? How can someone who has already been divorced become a

member of the Foster family? Who does she think she is?" screamed the old Mrs. Foster in anger,

almost fainting from rage! Her eyes glared fiercely at Madam Karina as if blaming her. "Why didn't you

tell me earlier? If Camille hadn't told me about this, I would have remained completely ignorant! Do you

still consider me your mother-in-law?"

Madam Karina stood up with a forced smile. "Mom, I didn't want you getting upset, so I didn't tell you

anything earlier... I heard from Darius that they only went through with a marriage ceremony but

nothing really happened between them."

"A marriage ceremony means they've still gotten married!" shouted the old Mrs. Foster furiously. "I

absolutely refuse to let such a woman enter our doorsteps!"

As soon as these words left her mouth, the butler came running in, gasping for breath. "Old Mrs.

Foster, she's here now!"

"Damn it, does Darius want me to die already? He actually brought her back to me?" Old Mrs. Foster's

eyes were filled with angry flames as she glared at the living room door.

Everyone in the living room stood up upon hearing the commotion downstairs. June came down from

the third floor and immediately sensed that something was amiss in the room.

Before she could say anything, they heard footsteps approaching along with a child's voice. "Daddy, is

this your home?"

Darius' tender and doting voice also entered everyone's ears. "Yes, there's your grandmother here and

great-grandmother too."

The man was always cold and aloof; he rarely made an effort to soften his tone like this.

Upon hearing his voice, almost everyone suspected that they were hallucinating.

They stared incredulously at the door only to see a handsome man holding a little girl who looked like a

doll in his arms while his other hand held onto an elegant and beautiful woman wearing a white down

jacket over a light green dress paired with white half-heeled shoes that revealed her slender legs.

She didn't look like those women from Middle Evroya whom they thought would have dark skin tones or

rough features without any elegance or gracefulness whatsoever.

Isabelle not only had fair skin but also delicate features which made her look even more attractive than

June herself did.

Especially Darius' daughter who wore Snoopy yellow down jacket over her cute dress; she looked so

adorable with some resemblance of Darius mixed with Isabelle's traits.

It was obvious that she inherited all of their best qualities which made her even more lovable.

Darius wore a long black coat outside while inside he donned casual beige clothes underneath.

After entering the house together as one family unit, they took off their outerwear since there was

heating inside.

The three of them exuded such strong family vibes, making it seem impossible for anyone to separate

them apart.

Anyone observant enough could tell that they were indeed one happy family of three.

"What's going on? Why is everyone staring?" Darius glanced at the people in the living room, gently

holding Bethany's hand. "The one in the middle is your great-grandmother, this one is your

grandmother, and this one is your grandaunt..." He introduced each of them to the child before turning

to introduce Isabelle.

Isabelle politely nodded and greeted each of them while Bethany also showed her good manners.

Only then did old Mrs. Foster snap out of her daze and sneered at Isabelle. "I heard Miss Deleon was

previously married?"

Darius frowned slightly, about to speak up when Isabelle smiled and said, "Yes, I was previously in an

arranged marriage by my father. However... our marriage was more for show than anything else." She

spoke confidently without feeling ashamed or hurt by her past failed marriage.

"Well then, Miss Deleon... I'm sorry but it seems you're not qualified enough to be a daughter-in-law of

the Foster family," old Mrs. Foster spoke harshly with a cold tone.
