Chapter 346 Are You Afraid
Chapter 346 Are You Afraid
Lord Nalan always had such a temperament, and he deeply cared for Linda, so his reactions were
perfectly reasonable.
"Grandfather, please don't get mad at me. I have overlooked this matter. Later, I'll have Paul get on it
as soon as possible, "
Charles said patiently.
But Lord Nalan just glanced at him and said, "That's it? That's how you want to get it over with? Do you
think I'm that easy to fool?"
Standing on the side, Linda couldn't help but laugh at Charles's anxious face.
She felt that Charles had finally met his match. Lord Nalan was the only person who could unsettle
Charles like this, for he had the final say on Linda's marriage. Therefore, Charles had no choice but to
keep him happy.
But Lord Nalan was really unhappy at the moment.
Charles had assured him without hesitation that future announcements and interviews of Sophia Liu
would be subjected to her agent's careful discretion before she would make the same mistake.
Otherwise, she would be totally banned from speaking in public.
Charles couldn't personally deny the rumors. If he did, he would be publicly humiliating a celebrity of
his own company.
But if he didn't, he would not be able to bring justice to Linda. Sophia made some ill remarks which had
made her sound like a third wheel.
"Grandfather, this matter shall pass. I will handle it properly. Please trust me. How about we play a few
rounds of go together?"
Charles racked his brains, trying to find a way to cheer Lord Nalan up.
Lord Nalan looked at him, intending to turn him down, but he was desperate for a game of go. His
subordinates dared not win against him, or they were just bad at go, so he found it boring to play with
them. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Playing with Charles was different. Richard could actually feel tension. If he had left a single piece
unguarded, he might lose the game.
"All right then. I will let go of it this one time, but such thing should never happen again, "
Lord Nalan snorted, turned around, and left.
A servant by the doorway came in and said, "My Lady, My Lord, and Young Master Mu, there is a lady
called Miss Shen who is here to visit Your Ladyship."
"Miss Shen? Is it Sarah Shen again?"
Charles was ready to leave with Lord Nalan. But he turned around upon hearing the name Sarah Shen
and said with a frown, "Why is she here? Does she already know that Haley Nalan is Linda Xia?"
"No, she doesn't, but I intend to tell her today." Linda registered a smile on her face.
Last time, when Sarah came over, Linda didn't show up personally. She just taught her a lesson. Sarah
must have held a grudge since, and that was why she was here again today.
The invitation sent over by Sarah last time was not just a simple card, but it was one smeared with
poison.
Sarah might have come over to check how she was doing.
Linda had decided not to avoid her this time. Now that she was back with Charles, she wouldn't care if
her identity was exposed.
She was the eldest daughter of the Nalan clan and the wife of Young Master Mu.
These two identities presented no conflict of interests.
"Go and play go with grandfather. I'll take care of this, " Linda told Charles.
This was supposed to be a fight between two women. Linda didn't want to get Charles involved, for he
would deal with her face to face. Sarah liked to play dirty, didn't she? Her usual tactics included
festering family responsibilities and engagements, so Linda would like to teach her what true marriages
really were.
"Go, and told Bun I want to see her, " Linda told the servant by her side.
Bun was somewhat indisposed last night, so Linda gave her a break and asked her to get some rest.
She arranged for someone else to replace Bun. Anna, on the other hand, was in the hospital and not
home either.
Bun came over quickly upon Linda's instruction. She asked as soon as she got there, "My Lady, what
do you need?"
Linda smiled a bit and replied, "Sarah Shen is here."
"She is here again? She had already sent you the invitation last time, hadn't she? What now?"
Linda was right. Sarah was there to confirm if she was poisoned or not.
Since Sarah had left in a hurry last time, she was not sure if the card was handed over to Linda by the
servant. If not, her scheme would be in vain.
She was terribly embarrassed that day. She pooped in her pants. Recalling that scene made her ears
hot and red. She was unwilling to come back, but she had to, especially if she wanted to get back at
Linda for Amy's sake.
Sarah regarded Amy as her best friend in the world, so she wanted her friend to be happy.
However, even as the eldest daughter of an old clan of police officers, Sarah was so naive. Although
she was overbearing, her heart was in the right place. She was just a tool being utilized by Amy to
satisfy her desire of getting Charles.
But all Amy's effort was in vain. After years of struggle, Charles didn't even spare a glance for Amy.
How would she ever win his heart?
"My Lady, I don't want to see her, " Bun clenched her teeth and finally told Linda, with her head lowered
down.
She had no idea why she was scared of seeing Sarah. She just felt the bitterness and hatred when she
saw the condescending demeanor of Sarah. Sometimes Bun wished she hadn't fallen in love with Brian
Ho, a man of stellar reputation?
"What's wrong? Honey, are you afraid? Don't worry. As long as you and Brian truly love each other,
nothing could stand in your way. Don't get daunted by her. You know she's just immature."
Linda grabbed both of Bun's shoulders with her hands. Bun must have been bullied by Sarah when she
was away.
Bun was innocent by nature. Without Linda, she must have had trouble dealing with Sarah's dirty tricks.
Sarah had given Bun an invitation card, but she didn't mean to invite her. She just wanted to mock her.
By doing so, she might gain a bit of satisfaction.
But things were different now. Linda was back, and she wouldn't tolerate those who had bullied Bun.
For those who had already done it, she wouldn't let them get away easily!
Bud nodded her head. Linda could surely soothe her uneasiness.
"Let her in, and lead her to the living room. Pour her the cup of tea we gave her last time, and put some
poison in the water!"
