Chapter 288 Doubt
Chapter 288 Doubt
"I will, Amy, don't worry. I also believe that you will marry Young Master Mu. There is a Chinese saying
that true lovers end up together, " Sarah comforted Amy.
If Linda Xia was here and had heard this conversation, she would have laughed at Sarah.
What was Sarah saying? How could such a feeling be considered true love?
Obviously, Amy was obsessed with Young Master Mu, who didn't like her anymore and never showed
any interest towards her.
It would be an insult to the quote that "true lovers would end up together".
"I, hehe..."
Even though the words were on her lips, Amy didn't know how to tell Sarah that she killed Linda Xia.
She didn't know where to start the story.
'But then what does Haley have to do with Linda? How are they both related?'
When Amy thought about these problems, she became fretful.
"By the way, Amy, how did you get injured? When I heard that you fell down from a Nalan building, I
was so worried about you. Did you went out for fun that night? And why did your mother call me and
said that you sent her a text message, saying that you were out with me?"
Sarah asked.
"What do you mean? I texted my mother and said, I went out with you, and then my mother called you
to confirm?"
Amy was confused.
"Yes. On the morning after the party, your mother called me to ask why you didn't come home. I was
totally confused back then. Since I didn't know what must have happened for you to lie to her, I figured
you went out alone. In order to cover for you, I told her that you were on your way home. I tried to call
you after your mother called, but your cellphone was switched off, " Sarah explained everything to Amy.
"But I didn't send any message to my mother! There was no network signal in the restroom so how
could I possibly send a message successfully?"
Amy took her cellphone out and checked the message log. She couldn't find the message that Sarah
mentioned.
"No signal in a bathroom! How could that be possible? We are living in a modern world. There's
network coverage throughout the whole country. Not to mention the restroom was in the Nalan clan, a
wealthy family."
"I don't know. I am confused and curious at the same time..."
Amy wanted to discuss this further with Sarah, but her parents Bob Qi and Amanda Zhang went inside
the ward after they had finished the discharge-related formalities.
"Amy, the doctor said that you could recover at home. There's no need to stay in the hospital. Let's go
home now."
Amanda looked at her daughter and felt pain in her heart. Amy was lying on the bed with a pale face.
She was obviously in pain.
Amy had multiple fractures. Amanda wished that she could endure the pain for her daughter instead.
Amy nodded as she felt that she was unsafe in the hospital. She also preferred to go home.
"Mother, I would be bored at home alone. Can Sarah stay with me for a bit?" Amy glanced at Sarah
and asked her mother.
"Okay, you can do whatever you like, " Amanda agreed. She also thought that it would be good for
someone to accompany her daughter.
"Mother, please don't forget to call Sarah's grandfather. He might worry about her, " Amy told to her
mother.
Amanda nodded and would call him later.
Sarah belonged to a big family. Her parents would worry about her as well.
Besides, the Qi clan had a good relationship with the Shen clan. If Amanda made the call directly to
Sarah's grandpa, he would agree to let Sarah stay with Amy.
"Mother, may I use your phone for a moment?"
Amanda gave her a weird look, but she still gave her cellphone to Amy.
Amy looked at the phone and checked the messages. She found one message that read, "Mother, I'm
going to Sarah's place and will be back tomorrow."
After seeing the message, Amy gave the cellphone back to Amanda without saying anything.
"What's wrong?"
Amanda asked curiously. She didn't know why Amy wanted to see her cellphone. There was nothing to
see! Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Never mind. I just wanted to know the time. My cellphone is switched off, and there is no clock here, "
Amy smiled and explained to her mother.
Amanda dismissed the thought and prepared to collect Amy's stuff from the hospital ward.
Amy and Sarah looked at each other. They both knew that something was wrong with Amy's accident
but they couldn't talk about it now.
Later, Bob and Amanda took Amy home. Sarah went along with them.
Bob Qi was afraid that Sarah's grandpa would be worried about Sarah, so he called Sarah's grandpa
Lord Shen. Bob told him that Sarah would stay in the Qi clan's house to accompany Amy who was sick,
for a few days.
Lord Shen agreed and didn't say much more.
After returning to Amy's room, Amy carefully lay down on the bed. Sarah pulled a chair next to the bed
and sat down.
The Qi clan was finally at rest. Amanda ordered the servants to cook bone soup for Amy, to provide
calcium for her. She was hoping that Amy's broken bone would recover soon. Winters were not good
for fractures.
Amy and Sarah tried to discuss the topics they weren't able to finish in the hospital.
Feeling pain in her body, Amy gnashed her teeth and said, "I checked my mother's cellphone and saw
a message mentioning you. But I wasn't the one who sent it."
"That's strange. What exactly happened?" Sarah asked with furrowed brows.
Since her best friend was in an accident, Sarah was worried.
After thinking for a while, Amy looked at her cellphone and wondered whether her cellphone was
working fine or not. How was it possible to send a message automatically? She was quite sure that she
didn't send any message that night.
"Amy, are you sure about it? You were badly hurt back then. Could it be that you could not remember
sending out the message? Maybe you had sent it, but you deleted it later, " Sarah asked.
Amy tried to recall the whole set of events that night. She was certain that her phone was out of signal.
So, how could she send the message?
Even though she was in complete hysteria, she couldn't forget what she had done.
If this cellphone was given back to her by the Nalan Clan and this accident was planned by Lady Haley
Nalan. Was there a possibility that it was Haley who had sent the message? Was her cellphone really
broken? Or did someone rig it?
Upon contemplation, Amy said, "Sarah, please turn on my computer."
