Chapter 436: A Silk Scarf Is Missing
Chapter 436: A Silk Scarf Is Missing
Louis is doing something in the kitchen and doesn't answer Chandler.
Chandler then runs to the kitchen to ask him. He raises his head and asks, "Louis, I sent you a
message this afternoon. Why didn't you reply? Did you really break up with Lily?"
"Louis?"
"Louis, why aren't you speaking?" Chandler says in a loud voice.
After a long time, Louis admits in a whisper.
"Why? Lily is so nice." Chandler asks, "Is the woman you love now more beautiful than her?"
Louis glances at him and says, "I don't have another one."
Chandler frowns and mutters, "But Lily said you did and that was also why you broke up with her."
"No." Louis denies again and picks up steaming buns from the steamer. "It was she that decided to
break up with me and I just agreed."
Chandler is stunned. "Then why did Lily break up with you?"
Louis does not reply. He grabs him on the collar with one hand and takes the buns with the other. After
entering the living room, he throws him on the sofa. "Stop asking. Eat now."
"But ..."
Chandler is curious about why they broke up, but he is frightened by Louis’ sharp gaze. He lowers his
head and takes a bun from the plate.
Looking at the bun, Chandler complains to himself: The bun looks ugly. I don't want to eat it!"
Louis also takes one from the plate and asks him, "Did your father often contact your mother and you
after he went abroad?"
"We had a video call every day for the first two months, but then he stopped calling us." Chandler takes
a bite of the bun and says thickly with his mouth full, "Dad said he's busy. I'm afraid it will disturb him if I
call."
"Is that so?" Louis frowns.
He knows that Daniel's father is injured in Country XL, so Daniel goes over to help.
But he thinks there is nothing serious going on over there. Then why does Daniel stay there for so
long?
As Chandler eats the stuffing, he screws up his face. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Since Louis is here, Chandler could only eat it up. Then he drinks up half glass of juice. "Louis, where
did you buy it?"
"I made it." Louis also takes a bite, "Isn't it delicious?"
After Louis eats the stuffing, there is spicy and salty flavor on his tongue. It tastes bad.
He instantly freezes.
"It's fine, Louis." Chandler pats Louis on the shoulder and comforts him, "Louis, it seems that you don't
have the talent for cooking, but you're good at making money."
Louis barely eats the stuffing up. He looks at the bun in his hand and thinks that it is really awful.
That night, when he sees Lily finishing a plate of tofu buns, he thinks they are very delicious. Only after
he has a try himself does he realize the buns are awful.
However, Lily has eaten them up.
Thinking of that time when Lily praises the buns while eating, Louis is touched.
Lily doesn't want to put him to shame, so she eats a plate of tofu buns up. Louis thinks of the shredded
pork noodles that he cooked in the morning. It is probably not tasty either, but she has eaten up as well.
Louis sighs, "Lily ..."
'How could I hate you?'
"Who?" Chandler asks him, "Louis, did you mention Lily?"
"No."
"Then who? Louis."
Chandler asks aloud. Louis ignores him and directly goes upstairs.
Chandler puts away the phone and walks behind Louis. "Louis, it's fine if you're not with Lily. Anyway,
Lily would still be my mother-in-law."
"..."
"It's said that a daughter is like her mother. Lily's daughter must be as beautiful as her!"
"..."
Louis stops moving forward and turns around to stare at Chandler. "Shut up! Or I would throw your
belongings and you out and you would sleep on the streets."
Chandler is afraid and mutters, "I didn't say anything bad about you, Louis."
Louis raises his hand.
"Louis, I'm going to sleep. Goodbye!" Chandler notices the serious expression on Louis’ face, so he
finishes speaking and runs away quickly.
It becomes quiet after Chandler left.
Louis stays in the study for two hours. After things are done, he goes to wash up.
When he comes out of the bathroom in his nightgown, he sees Rich lying on the bedside carpet.
He wonders why the ragdoll isn't together with Rich now. They used to be in the past. After a while, he
remembers that the ragdoll has already been away with Lily.
When Rich sees Louis, it waves its tail as if it wants to play with him.
Louis just ignores.
Sitting on the bed, he pulls open the drawer on the side. He finds that the scarf inside is missing. He
checks the second drawer, but it is still not there.
Does David take it away?
Louis calls David.
"Mr. Smith, Mr. Sawyer's matters are done!" After the call is connected, David says first, "And the
documents you required were already sent to you by email."
"Why do you sound nervous?"
David says pitifully, "Mr. Smith, I'm afraid that you're in a bad mood and send me to Calgary again."
One day, Mr. Smith suddenly asks him to Calgary for some time and when he is about to board with his
suitcase, he is told not to go by another call.
Mr. Smith's unpredictable moods make him scared.
He is going to take Sofia home for dinner this weekend, so he doesn't want to go to Calgary now.
Louis ignores his words and asks, "Did you take anything away when you picked Lily up?"
"No, after Ms. Lily packed up, we left right away. Mr. Smith, do you lose anything?"
Louis stays silent for a while and says, "I lost a silk scarf."
"A scarf?"
Louis is unpleased by his reaction and says coldly, "You really want to go to Calgary, don't you?"
"No, I want to stay by your side, Mr. Smith!" David hurriedly says, "Mr. Smith, what kind of silk scarf is
it? Could it be that you forget where you keep it?"
"It was kept in the bedside cabinet on the right and I didn't misplace it." Louis says, "You saw it last
time. It is an ink- blue Hermes scarf."
"I remember! Rich took a silk scarf and ran downstairs that day when I came to pick up Ms. Lily. I
thought it was Ms. Lily's!"
It is indeed Lily's.
But ...
Louis’ face is dark with anger. He lowers his head and wants to punish the dog, only to find that Rich
has gone away. He becomes angrier.
He takes good care of it, but it is ungrateful for that at all!
"Mr. Smith?" Not hearing Louis’ reply, David asks, "How about I getting that scarf back from Ms. Lily
tomorrow morning?"
"No. Just forget it." Louis replies and hangs up.
The scarf is the only thing she has left him.
Since she has taken it away, he should let it go. It will only make him less valuable if he chooses to
take it back. And Lily will think that he feels regretful for her leave.
